DEFENSE TRAINING COURSES
Defensive Handgun Course
You have completed your CCW Course so what's the next step?
Integrated Defense Group, LLC is holding a Defensive Handgun Course that is designed to introduce students to realistic defensive handgun skills that they will need in real life situations. It is important for handgun owners to understand that there is a significant gap between the remedial/beginner level skills requirement of the Ohio CCW course and the skills that will be required to survive a real deadly force encounter.
This course focuses on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset of concealed carry. Our goal is to help students develop the strong knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to carry and use a handgun safely, efficiently, effectively and with confidence. By participating in this course, the student will be able to understand, explain and demonstrate the following:
- Concealed firearm safety
- Mindset
- Understanding exactly when to draw your firearm
- Basic principles of cover and concealment
- Levels of mental awareness
- Conflict avoidance
- Use of force
- What to do after an incident
- Proper grip, balance and sight alignment
- Movement and multiple targets
- Drawing from a holster or a purse
- Defending yourself in a car
- Reloading under stress
- Firearms retention
- Clearing common stoppages
- Advanced Shooting Techniques
A large part of this class is spent on the range so dress accordingly!
Our Defensive Handgun courses are designed to enhance the skills of the legally armed citizen, law enforcement officer, and military personnel who carry concealed handguns and want to expand their skills for a close quarter encounters. Carrying a handgun concealed is a big responsibility and requires mastering techniques for safe handling and rapid deployment with accurate shots under extreme stress.
Most of our students are shooting 60 to 90% better after finishing our course.
The Defensive Handgun Course runs about 6 hours depending on class size and is designed for those who have completed their Concealed Carry Course (CCW) and want to be prepared to carry a handgun and use it with confidence. This course should be completed before you ever decide to start carrying a concealed firearm.
Integrated Defense Group combines advanced police, military and competitive shooting strategies to produce the most realistic training available. In a violent street encounter being able to shoot well is not enough, shooting well under tremendous stress in adverse conditions is what will count and save your life.
